Do Not Call Marijuana Profane As God Has Made It Holy
If you really like to imagine something amazing think about these facts. These
The majority of Americans in our country claim to be Christian. The majority of people in public office in this country claim to be Christian. Our laws should reflect the foundation of our Constitution which is the right of an individual to be free to live and be happy. Our government should be in the position of maintaining the peace by protecting the “inalienable rights” of every citizen without prejudice.
A citizen has the right to be free to use Marijuana. A citizen has the right to be free to grow Marijuana outdoors; to be free to grow Marijuana indoors. A citizen has the right to be free to interpret the effects of Marijuana as spiritual in nature and thus free to interpret how to use Marijuana. Read on to understand why we, as a Christian nation of free individuals are compelled to legalize Marijuana.
Acts of the Apostles, Chapter 11
5 ‘One day, when I was in the town of Jaffa,’ he began, ‘I fell into a trance as I was praying and had a vision of something like a big sheet being let down from heaven by its four corners. This sheet came right down beside me.
6 I looked carefully into it and saw four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, reptiles, and birds of heaven.
7 Then I heard a voice that said to me, "Now, Peter, kill and eat!"
8 But I answered, "Certainly not, Lord; nothing profane or unclean has ever crossed my lips."
9 And a second time the voice spoke from heaven, "What God has made clean, you have no right to call profane."
10 This was repeated three times, before the whole of it was drawn up to heaven again.
This scriptural account of Saint Peter’s about what a person may consume has always been seen in relationship to the issue of non-Jews becoming Christians but I can see a more contemporary application of the principle that is expressed to Peter by the Angel. "What God has made clean, you have no right to call profane."
Our present constitutional government can see its antecedent in the
The only hope the people held on to was that at some point a Messiah would come and save them. And the Messiah did come and he was called Jesus Christ. And He is the one that connects all of this together. He is the One who inspired the founders of our country to form such a government as we have. And now this government has strayed from the essential principle of individual rights set forth in the Constitution and has become an “enforcer of the laws”.
This parallel between the controllers of our government and the priests of the
What God is saying to Peter is that all life is Holy because God created it. God does not create “profane things”. To refuse to eat some food because the law says it is profane is to go up against God’s holiness. So the Angel (acting according to the will of God) commands Peter to eat.
I believe if you apply this principle to the present legal status of Marijuana in this country today you can see as a Christian nation we are going up against God’s holiness to allow our government and laws to call Marijuana profane; to make laws against Marijuana. Rather we should legalize Marijuana. This principle has to be applied everywhere in every way possible. It’s this principle that opened up the early Christian Church to the Gentiles and thus spread God’s word of freedom all through the world and through time right up to now in our Constitution.
If you take this principle to its full conclusion then you would have to say that all laws against Marijuana use (or for that matter the use of any substance that God has created) are in fact evil and against God’s holiness and we as a nation have to suffer the consequences for going against God. Just think about how much money has been diverted from our economy to feed the “drug war” machine since the 60’s.
This has to include the cost of having enough Government employees to arrest, prosecute and imprison all of the individuals who got caught being involved with drugs and it has to include the loss to our economy of these individuals from the work force who’s lives were ruined and families devastated when arrested and thrown into the system. It’s mind boggling! All of this evil that we are talking about is the product of calling “profane what God has made holy”. Please think about this sincerely and check the logic. This is not a joke and if any Christian would make light of this or dismiss it they cannot claim to be a friend of Jesus because it is Jesus that reveals this.
